Sealed proposals will be received by the City of LaFayette in the City Hall, 207 South Duke Street, and immediately thereafter publicly opened and read for the furnishing of labor, material and equipment for the rehabilitation and realignment of runway pavement.

Bids must be submitted on the complete project and must be enclosed in a sealed envelope, addressed to City of LaFayette, Attn: David Hamilton, City Manager, City of LaFayette, 207 South Duke Street, LaFayette, GA 30728. Outside of the envelope must be marked “Bid for Runway Pavement Rehabilitation and Realignment.” Envelope must also bear, on the outside, the name of the bidder, bidder’s address, and bidder’s license number. All bids must be made on blank forms provided and included in the bound document or as provided by Addendum prior to bid.

Address any questions regarding this Notice in writing to Jason Elliott of WK Dickson at jelliott@wkdickson.com. Questions and answers will be distributed to all plan holders via an addendum. All questions must be received by WK Dickson by Friday, March 4, 2022 at 5:00 PM local time. Questions received after this date and time may not receive responses before the bid opening.

Prequalification of contractors and subcontractors must confirm with the requirements of Chapter 672-5 of the Rules and Regulations of the State of Georgia from the Office of the Georgia Secretary of State. All Bidders must possess a valid Certificate of Qualification as defined in Chapter 672-5 prior to submitting a bid on any project greater than $2 million or a Certificate of Registration prior to submitting a bid on any project less than $2 million. All Contractors and Subcontractors must possess a Certificate of Registration prior to beginning work on any project.

Each proposal shall be accompanied by a cash deposit or certified check, drawn on some bank or trust company insured by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, in an amount equal to not less than five percent of the proposal. In lieu thereof, the bidder may offer a bid bond of five percent of the bid prepared on the Bid Bond form contained within the Contract Documents or a Surety Company's Standard Bid Bond form, duly executed by the Bidder as principal and executed by a surety company licensed under the laws of Georgia to execute such bonds and listed in the latest issue of U. S. Treasury Circular 570, conditioned that the surety will, upon demand, forthwith make payment to the obligee upon said bond if the bidder fails to execute the contract in accordance with the bid bond. Said deposit shall be retained by the Owner as liquidated damages in event of failure of the successful bidder to execute the contract within ten days after the award or to give satisfactory surety as required by law.
