Rehabilitation and replacement of facilities and equipment at three (3) lift stations located at Moore Street, Ninth Street, and Park Avenue in the City of Southport, NC.

Work of the Project includes the rehabilitation of Owner’s Pump Sation No. 29 generally includ-ing the following: PS No. 29: Force main relocation, installation of one (1) new sewer manhole, gravity sewer in-stallation, by-pass pumping, cleaning, application of cementitious material to restore existing wetwell and installation of epoxy protective coating, concrete pavement replacement, electrical improvements, SCADA improvements, and all other appurtenances as shown in the contract documents.

The project will include the demolition of the existing terminal building and construction of the new terminal building within the same footprint. The project will also include re-construction of the adjacent access drive and parking area for the terminal building. The site work will involve removal of approximately 1800 square yards of asphalt pavement, approximately 1,500 cubic yards of unclassified excavation, approximately 2,100 square yards of 12” deep crushed aggregate base course, and approximately 525 tons of asphalt pavement. The site development will also include about 600 linear feet of storm pipe, and water and sewer service laterals.

The Mulberry and Powerhouse Pump Stations are being upgraded with the intent of replacing aged equipment, adding standby generators, and installation of new electrical equipment, controls, and generator on new raised platforms to flood-proof the pump stations. The project will include construction of the raised concrete platform, installation of Owner-provided generators, pump controls, and electrical equipment. Owner-provided new or refurbished pumps will be installed in each station. New stainless-steel piping will be installed in each station, each wet well will be thoroughly cleaned and the Mulberry Pump Station wet well will be structurally rehabilitated. Site improvements will include asphalt paving and new fencing at the Powerhouse Pump Station.

The work will consist of constructing a new water transmission main and new sanitary sewer force main for the Town of Mooresville. Area 1 consists of approximately 1.5 miles of 16-inch water main. The proposed water main will run along Mazeppa Rd, generally paralleling an existing 12-inch water main, approximately 1.5 miles from the intersection with Hwy 115 to the intersection with Penske Way. Area 2 includes the abandonment of an existing 12-inch force main and re-routing its discharge location. The replacement will re-route the force main to a newly constructed (by others) gravity outfall with a new tie in manhole. The re-routed force main will be increased in size from the existing 12-inch to 16 inches.

The project includes the furnishing of labor, material and equipment for the rehabilitation of Runway 6/24 and Taxiway A associated airfield lighting and signage.

The project will include replacement of the rotating beacon three obstruction lights, all located on ridges near the airport. The existing lights and towers will be removed and replaced with new lights and new tipdown poles

The project will include approximately 11,500 linear feet of 10’ high perimeter fencing with barbed wire and wildlife exclusion skirt. The fencing will include four 24’ wide swing gates.

Schedule I - The project scope will include the construction of one, 10-unit T-Hangar building with associated taxilanes and auto access. Site preparation will include around 4,000 cubic yards of grading, about 775 linear feet of storm drain pipe, about 1,200 tons of asphalt paving, and utility services for the new hangar building (water, sewer, electric). Schedule II - The project scope will include the construction of two, 10-unit T-Hangar buildings with associated taxilanes and auto access. Site preparation will include around 4,500 cubic yards of grading, about 900 linear feet of storm drain pipe, about 1,800 tons of asphalt paving, and utility services for the new hangar buildings (water, sewer, electric). Schedule III - The project scope will include the construction of two, 10-unit T-Hangar buildings with associated taxilanes and auto access and an apron rehabilitation. Site preparation will include around 5,300 cubic yards of grading, about 850 linear feet of storm drain pipe, about 3,000 tons of asphalt paving, and utility services for the new hangar buildings (water, sewer, electric).

The project scope will include crack sealing and repair within the existing asphalt taxiway and runway. Quantities are estimated to be 17,000 linear feet of cracks less than ¼” wide and 17,000 linear feet of cracks between ¼” and 1 ½” wide. Also, the existing joints on the concrete apron will be routed and resealed with quantities estimated to be 30,500 linear feet.
